End of Year Inventory
by Rochelle Griffin
The end of the year is upon us already. Hard to believe, yes? One thing that I always do in December is an assessment of the previous 12 months. It’s a good idea to do an “end of the year” inventory of what you’ve accomplished, so that you can gaze into the next year and see the direction that you want to go. For me, this past year has been full of highs and lows, all of which I am grateful for because they continue to shape me into who I am. I would like to share with you my Top 8 accomplishments and lessons in hopes that you will sit down introspectively to see where you currently are as well.
Rochelle’s Top 7 Accomplishments & Lessons of 2012
1. Traveled around the world
It has been a crazy year of traveling. I had the blessing of taking my men on an all-expense paid trip to Atlantis in the Bahamas courtesy of Beachbody. We also spent a fun week in the Smokey Mountains.
On my own, I had the chance to go to Tahiti as an invited guest on the all-expense paid Beachbody Top Coach trip. The pictures that you see in magazines or online…yea, Tahiti really looks like that. The only thing missing? My hubby.
Add in Vegas, Laguna Beach, Illinois, and cities around FL several times, and it’s no wonder that I felt the need to take a sabbatical from traveling in November & December.
Lesson: I will be traveling even more purposefully in 2013. I want more time with my family. Period.
2. Pampered this year as an Elite Team Beachbody Coach
It was nice to see my name in lights, per say, but in truth, I’m a simple girl. I’m proud to have been ranked among the best of the best, but it’s just a title. Don’t get me wrong. I’m incredibly grateful to have accomplished it but I simply don’t feel the need to maintain it.
Lesson: Titles don’t drive me and that’s ok.
3. Became 100% Debt-free
With careful planning & a thriving business, 2012 became the year that we proudly were able to claim ourselves debt-free, including paying off our mortgage and paying in full for our son’s braces.
Lesson: With patience, perseverance, and a plan, ANYONE can become debt-free over time. Trust me…if we did it, so can you!
4. GoFitCoach Facebook Community started in April and is already above 8,000!
I’m so incredibly proud of this because this wouldn’t and couldn’t have happened without YOU! When I first started the GoFitCoach community 8 months ago, it consisted only of people I knew. I’m thrilled to say that our community has quickly become a place where strangers may enter but are embraced among the ranks of friends and family.
Lesson: People are looking for a place where they can feel completely accepted and loved. I’m honored that our community does just that.
5. Won May Transformation Contest in my age group
This was a personal goal that I set for myself to prove that I could do it. Les Mills Pump & Shakeology are given full credit for my results. (Fist pump!)
Lesson: Life does NOT go downhill after 40. No way. If anything, it has become so much sweeter.
6. Realized that there is truly no place like home and it’s where I belong
Earlier in the year, I went half-way around the world to Tahiti in the hopes of finding clarity in my life. I felt like I was on a precipice of “something.” Thankfully I found what I was looking for… that what I truly wanted was be at home with my men. This clarity helped me make some key decisions in the second half of 2012. While the decisions weren’t always popular with people outside of my immediate family, I had the blessing of my men and that’s all that mattered. I feel so settled now.
Lesson: Sure traveling is great, but NOTHING takes the place of family. Nothing.
7. Was able to expand my business internationally and help even more people
Helping people is woven into my DNA. Whether as a RN, fitness coach, or speaker, I get joy by helping people become the best that they can be. To be able to take this beyond the borders of the United States has been incredible!
Lesson: Dream big and just GO FOR IT!
I’m really excited about 2013. I have some amazing plans in store to help me reach even more people across the world. Yes, my goals are lofty but I want to impact so many! Again, I encourage you to take an inventory as well. Sit down with a cup of hot tea, in the quietness of your house either early in the morning or late at night and let your mind wander over the past year. Write down anything and everything that comes to you about 2012. This will really help you set a path to bridge 2012 & 2013 together.
