The RESET Ends…A Peek Inside My Master Cleanse
by Rochelle Griffin
Here I am at the end of Week 3 of my master cleanse…thank goodness. This week focused on revitalizing and heading into a completely 100% fruit/veggie diet. For me this week was extremely tough mentally and physically. I’ve always said that I’d be truthful with you during these three weeks, so I will honestly tell you that I was HUNGRY this week.
By the second day, I was beginning to feel deprived and knew that I could never be a long-term vegan. Don’t get me wrong. The recipes, for the most part, were good. In fact, Keith made some awesome baked cauliflower that…no joke…tasted to me like burned marshmallows over a fire. I began to actually hallucinate about food. :O I just started to feel like I was on a diet and I didn’t enjoy that part. I was also beginning to miss working out. This last week definitely took every ounce of my perseverance to make it through. Without group support, I’m not sure that I would have lasted this week.
I started to become very tired of just having fruits and vegetables…bored in fact. Grains were an option for dinner and we always included them. I DID get creative with my fruit for breakfast and snack by baking them with cinnamon, which was fabulous. It tasted like pie filling but without the guilt! I also added in chia seeds daily, getting creative by making my own cashew milk to have with them. I simply needed more calories.
As with last week, Keith had to doctor some of the flavors. I’m not a fan of curry, so he came up with own recipe for the Curry Cauliflower and it’s an absolute keeper….remember it tasted like marshmallows! 😉
It’s interesting because some people in my group found this week to be their easiest. This is why I tell you that you cannot compare your journey to someone else’s. It simply will not look the same.
Things I learned from Week 3 of my master cleanse, the Ultimate Reset Journey.
- Bundle up. I was colder this week than any other…and I’m NEVER cold.
- This isn’t a starvation diet. It’s OK to add in more food.
- I will never be able to be 100% vegan.
- Fennel is NOT my thing.
- I LOVE chia seeds with cashew milk.
In addition, I lost another 1.5 lbs for a total of 9 lbs and Keith lost 0.2 lbs for a total of 8.8 lbs. We both went yesterday and had our blood-work done. I will be doing a Post-Master Cleanse blog post next week once we get our results back. At that point, I’ll recap my thoughts on ALL three weeks, plus post our before/after pictures and our before/after measurements. In addition, I will explain our lab results and what they mean, what we feel we gained from the master cleanse as a whole, and IF we’d do it again or even recommend it to you.
