It’s Your Health. It’s Your Choice.
by Rochelle Griffin
Here’s the scenario…when people seek me out, typically they are already feeling poorly. They may be unable to lose weight, feel fatigued, battle depression, have crazy mood swings, & struggle with insomnia among other things. Their health is on the decline.
Reality check. When you don’t feel right, don’t feel good, don’t feel like yourself, ultimately it’s up to you to find answers. Sometimes you’ll find your answer from your physician and other times it will take effort on your part to seek out the answers.
With that said, it’s still imperative that conventional medicine and functional medicine meet somewhere in the middle.
I actually saw this in my Facebook feed a few days ago from someone who went to the doc: Other than the drugs she prescribed, the best advice she gave me was to go to the beach and breathe that salt air and eat McDonald French fries. She said they put so much salt on the fries that it would be great for my throat.
Seriously!?!?! I had a visceral reaction and actually cringed when I read it.
This advice is so many shades of wrong coming from any physician.
While some of you may be cheering at the advice, it doesn’t take away the fact that fast food…the ingredients, how it’s cooked…is flat out unhealthy for our body.
The amount of dietary stress we put on our body in the Western World is staggering. Dietary stress can lead to hormone imbalances, leaky gut, food sensitivities and set us up to be the perfect hosts to parasites, bacteria, & yeast. Gross! French fries, anyone?
No wonder adrenal fatigue, gut dysfunction, and low immunity are rampant in our society.
Look it’s your health. It’s your choice. But make an informed decision before you do.
